Are Cosmeceuticals a drug or a cosmetic?  Up

The term "Cosmeceuticals" is a hybrid of cosmetic and pharmaceutical. How many Intaglio skin resurfacing products does an average user use?  Up

Research has shown that a layering technique is the most effective. An average patient/client uses 5.5 different Intaglio products during the first six months to achieve maximum resurfacing benefits. During the next six months, the patient/client continues on a maintenance.


What exactly are the results of using Intaglio skin care products on the skin?  Up

What is a Maintenance Program?

What results can routine use of Intaglio glycolic acid products with vitamin a and vitamin c emollients produce?  Up

Routine use of our Skin Resurfacing products reduces wrinkles and pigment spots and makes the skin "look" noticeably younger and healthier.


How will Intaglio products help me with my dull sagging skin with lines, age spots and wrinkles?  Up

Intaglio antioxidants stimulate the growth of new skin cells and collagen production, while thickening the middle protective layer of the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Your skin tone and texture will become visibly firmer with an overall smoother complexion.


I have an uneven complexion with age spots and freckles, irregular and blotchy pigmentation and spotting as a result of my acne. What can I do to lightening the dark areas?  Up

Intaglio uses highly effective lightening agents both Hydroquinone and Kojic Acid, which work beneath the skins surface to reduce the pigmentation. Combined with our Broad Spectrum Sunscreens you can further reduce sun damage and your skin will become noticeably lighter.


Can Intaglio help me with excessive oily skin, blackheads and/or pustules as well as scarring from picking?  Up

Intaglio products use a combination of glycolic acid and salicylic acid to effectively treat and heal problematic skins. The antiseptic action of the glycolic and salicylic acid kills bacteria and prevents the spread of infection therefore preventing further breakouts and blackheads. At the same time the action of skin cleansing and resurfacing reduces the skins oil content.


Why are Intaglio products so effective in skin resurfacing, cell repair and skin protection?  Up

Intaglio products contain a high concentrate of medical grade glycolic acid and patented antioxidants to provide effective results that are fast and dramatic. Our glycolic products range from 3-20% glycolic acid with a low pH for greater effectiveness (3.5 - 4.0).


Can I be allergic to glycolic acid?  Up

Less than 1% of the population is actually allergic to glycolic. Begin slowly and gradually to allow your skin to become accustomed. By using too much over a short period of days may results in your skin becoming tingly and it may appear red. This is normal and temporary and will disappear by spreading out your glycolic application.


I have sensitive skin, am I able to use Intaglio products which include glycolic acid?  Up

Absolutely, Intaglio Cosmeceuticals offer a Therapeutic Line containing Vitamins A, B C and E with Pycnogenol which is both safe and effective for the most sensitive skins. At the same time our line is fragrance free so will not irritate the skin. Less that 1% of the population is actually allergic to glycolic acid. Clients who are sensitive skin can use fewer glycolic products and still achieve the same benefits.


Can men use the Intaglio Line? If so what products would be the most effective to prevent shaving rash and bumps?  Up

Most men have the same skin challenges as women therefore the whole Intaglio Line is suitable for men depending on their skin type. The most basic skin care regime would be a glycolic cleanser to remove dead cell build-up followed by a de-sensitizing treatment as a post shave to soothe the skin and then complete the routine with a Broad Spectrum Sunscreen to protect.


What if my skin becomes red and irritated?  Up

Some people begin using to much product or to many products to quickly. Remember it is important to start slowly. If your skin is red and irritated, stop for a day and you may apply soothing cream or 1% hydrocortisone creme. Begin using the products again more slowly. Intaglio products are potent and should be applied thinly.


What products are recommended for acne?  Up

Products that contain AHA's glycolic and salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, vitamin A, sulfur, zinc, and sunscreens.


Do I need a salon peel for best results?  Up

Salon peels are not necessary to achieve maximum results. Our home use products were developed in sufficient concentrations to achieve maximum resurfacing benefits. However, Intaglio does produce professional salon peels which can help you achieve results more quickly. See a skin care professional for a light peel if necessary.


Do I need a salon professional exfoliating peel to see results?  Up

Professional peels are not necessary to achieve effective results from glycolic resurfacing. Our extensive range of home care products were developed in sufficient concentrates to treat and repair all skin types; however Intaglio Salon Peels are effective in numerous spas to expedite the exfoliation process.


What treatments are effective for aging skin?  Up

Depending on your needs there are chemical peels, microdermabrasion, vibraderm, Chemabrasion, Laser, Botox, and Surgery.


What treatments will help me with my acne?  Up

Depending on your needs, there is the importance of home use medical strength Intaglio products. Also, medical grade chemical peels, microdermabrasion, Chemabrasion, and Laser treatments.

Is glycolic acid safe and can I be allergic to AHA's?  Up

AHA'S - Glycolic acids have been used over 100 years and has been approved by the FDA. There are little to no side effects when used as directed. Less than 1% is allergic to glycolic acid.


How long can you use glycolic acids?  Up

AHA-glycolic acid is safe to use for as long as you desire the results and benefits from the product.


Are all glycolic acid products the same?  Up

No. All products are manufactured differently they use different neutralizer to buffer the pH and blend different AHA compounds together that alters the concentration. They can use a different cosmetic or pharmaceutical grade of ingredients.


How do I choose a sunscreen?  Up

Always choose a sunscreen that protects you against UVA/UVB rays and with at least an SPF OF 15.


Does SPF 30 have twice as much sun protection as SPF 15?  Up

This does not mean twice as much protection. SPF 30, for example, absorbs 97 percent of sun burning rays, while a SPF 15 indicates 93 percent absorption.


Is there a safe way to tan, like in a tanning booth?  Up

There is NO safe way to tan. A suntan is the skin's responses to an injury. The study from the National Cancer institute published, "Tanning beds and tanning lamps may more than double the risk of cancer, and the worst in the young women who are most likely to use them".
